A short Interview with...

Marko Hirsch

Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

My name is Marko Hirsch. I am a Senior Consultant at alpha portfolio advisors and responsible for dynamic asset allocation. I live with my wife and two daughters in Sulzbach - a town at the foot of the Taunus mountains and at the same time just outside Frankfurt.

Can you tell us something about your career path and how you came to alpha portfolio advisors?

During my studies of business mathematics in Marburg, I was particularly interested in the development and application of mathematical models - and I found that the financial markets, especially in the area of asset allocation, offered an exciting "playground" for this. As part of my thesis, my professor at the time recommended that I take a closer look at a company called alpha portfolio advisors, which he thought might be a good fit for me. And he was right. It was my first and only application and I have now been a proud member of the alpha team for over 20 years.

What feeling guides you?

Curiosity and a pronounced play instinct also spur me on in my job to keep trying out new things. When working with quantitative models, this is a basic requirement in order to find customised and individual solutions for our clients as a team and to further develop the models over time.

How do you find the right balance in life?

My family gives me the right balance and I spend as much of my free time as possible with them, whether it's playing together, hiking or travelling. With all these experiences, it's important to me to always remain a bit of a child and not take everything too seriously - especially not myself.

In another life you would be...

... hopefully surrounded by the same lovely people who make my life worthwhile.
