My name is Lara Schulte and at alpha portfolio advisors I work as a Senior Consultant in manager selection for our institutional clients. After more than a decade in different big cities and various stays abroad, my husband and I have returned to our home in the Sauerland, where we live in our dream house from the Wilhelminian era.
I was fascinated by the world of numbers from a very early age, and this has continued throughout my entire school and university career. At the University of Mannheim, I specialised in finance in the Mannheim Master in Management and wrote both my Bachelor's and Master's thesis on empirical capital market topics.
The contact with alpha portfolio advisors was initiated by chance by my dear fellow student Mark Heiden, who was already working at alpha. In mid-2017, he proactively drew my attention to an open position. After an intensive interview in Kronberg, it quickly became clear that this was a "perfect match" - both professionally and personally. That's how I found my way to alpha portfolio advisors, where I have been able to contribute my passion for the capital markets ever since.
The feeling that guides me is curiosity and the constant search for further development. I am always open to new ideas and challenges, both in my professional and private life. It motivates me to always look for the best solution and to think creatively and innovatively. I am also guided by a sense of responsibility towards our customers. The idea that through my work I can contribute to, for example, ensuring the financial security of people in retirement, helping charitable foundations to increase their endowment capital and helping companies to achieve their financial goals fills me with pride and motivation.
In manager selection, my everyday life is characterised by analytical thinking and precise planning. That's why it's particularly important to me to create a counterbalance in my free time that allows me to relax and re-energise. An essential part of my balance is (adventure) travelling with my husband to the most fascinating places on our beautiful planet. My favourite things to do are hiking amidst picturesque landscapes or immersing myself in the culture of exotic countries. These experiences enrich my life and broaden my horizons.
I have a great passion for interior design and photography. In these areas, I can give free rein to my creativity and constantly gain new perspectives. The love of aesthetics and the creation of beauty make me happy. It fulfils me to design harmonious and appealing environments and to visually capture moments that tell emotions and stories. This enthusiasm for creativity gives me the energy to keep developing new ideas and solutions in my work.
